100 Years Of Communism

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY NOVEMBER 10, 2017

THIS WEEK MOST OF THE NATION’S ATTENTION PROPERLY TURNED TOWARD A LITTLE TOWN IN TEXAS WHERE 28 PEOPLE WERE SLAUGHTERED AND MANY OTHERS SERIOUSLY WOUNDED.

THE MEDIA COMPLETELY IGNORED ANOTHER SLAUGHTER THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 100 YEARS. BY SOME ESTIMATES THIS SALUGHTER HAS TAKEN AS MANY AS 72 MILLION LIVES. I’M TALKING ABOUT COMMUNISM.

IT WAS ON NOVEMBER 7, 1917 THAT A REVOLUTION LEAD BY VLADIMIR LENIN OVERTHREW THE RUSSIAN TSARIST GOVERNMENT AND BEGAN A KILLING SPREE THAT CONTINUES IN CHINA, NORTH KOREA AND MANY OTHER PLACES WHERE COMMUNISM HAS BEEN IMPOSED.

IN ADDITION TO THE HUMAN COST, THE ECONOMIC COST HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIAL. NATIONS THAT HAVE EMBRACED COMMUNISM ARE AMONG THE POOREST IN THE WORLD.

ONE REASON THE MODERN MEDIA HAVE GIVEN THIS ANNIVERSARY NO COVERAGE IS THAT MANY OF THEIR PREDECESSORS WERE COMMUNIST ENABLERS, OR “USEFUL IDIOTS” AS THE COMMUNISTS CALLED THEM. AND NOT ONLY THE MEDIA, BUT MANY IN ACADEMIA AND EVEN RELIGION SUPPORTED THE COMMUNISTS UNDER THE GUISE OF FAIRNESS AND EQUALITY. SOUND FAMILIAR? I’M CAL THOMAS IN WASHINGTON.
