Pray For The Persecuted

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JUNE 11, 2018

HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED IN OTHER COUNTRIES? HERE’S AN OPPORTUNITY.

THE WASHINGTON TIMES REPORTS THAT PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS AND OTHER RELIGIOUS MINORITIES IN CHINA IS AT ITS MOST INTENSE LEVEL SINCE THE CULTURAL REVOLUTION. CHURCHES ARE BEING CLOSED, BIBLES CONFISCATED AND BELIEVERS ARRESTED AT RATES NOT SEEN IN DECADES.

POLICE LAST WEEK RAIDED THE EARLY RAIN COVENANT CHURCH, AN UNDERGROUND PARISH IN SOUTHWEST SICHUAN PROVINCE, TO PRE-EMPT A MEMORIAL SERVICE COMMEMORATING THE 19TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TIANANMEN MASSACRE. YOU MAY RECALL THAT INCIDENT IN WHICH THE GOVERNMENT ORDERED PRO-DEMOCRACY PROTESTORS MURDERED IN THE SQUARE.

ACCORDING TO CHINA AID, AN ADVOCACY GROUP THAT DOCUMENTS HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES IN CHINA, 17 PEOPLE WERE VIOLENTLY DETAINED, INCLUDING PASTOR WANG YI AND HIS WIFE.

COMMUNISTS HATE GOD BECAUSE HE CHALLENGES THEIR AND THE STATE’S AUTHORITY WHICH THEY REGARD AS SUPREME. PRAY FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHINA AS WE ARE INSTRUCTED TO DO. I’M CAL THOMAS IN WASHINGTON.
