A Day That Lives In Infamy

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JANUARY 22, 2018

I STILL REMEMBER THE DAY: JANUARY 22, 1973. I WAS READING THE NEWS ON NBC RADIO. I DIDN’T THINK MUCH OF IT AT THE TIME. THE SUPREME COURT HAD RULED 7-2 THAT REMAINING STATE LAWS AGAINST ABORTION VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION. JUSTICE HARRY BLACKMUN, WHO WROTE THE MAJORITY OPINION, CREATED A “PNUMBRA” TO JUSTIFY HIS DECISION.

THIS IS WHAT LIBERALS DO. IF SOMETHING ISN’T IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT ADVANCES THEIR AGENDA, THEY CREATE IT.

SINCE THAT INFAMOUS DAY 45 YEARS AGO, ABOUT 60 MILLION BABIES HAVE BEEN EXTERMINATED IN AMERICA. FORTUNATELY THE GROWTH OF PREGNANCY HELP CENTERS AND THE USE OF SONOGRAMS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED THE ANNUAL ABORTION RATE. BUT AS LONG AS AMERICA’S GOVERNMENT VIEWS HUMAN LIFE AS SOMETHING LESS THAN ENDOWED BY OUR CREATOR, ABORTION AND EUTHANASIA WILL CONTINUE TO BE PRACTICED WITH SERIOUS MORAL AND SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES.

TODAY’S ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE WILL BE GIVEN SHORT SHRIFT BY THE MEDIA, BUT IT’S A REMINDER THAT GREAT SOCIAL CHANGE OFTEN TAKES TIME. WHY NOT CONTACT YOUR LOCAL PREGNANCY HELP CENTER TODAY AND ASK HOW YOU CAN BE PART OF THE SOLUTION? I’M CAL THOMAS IN WASHINGTON.
