Singing vs. Composing

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY MAY 9, 2018

WITH EACH PASSING DAY THE INVESTIGATION OF THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND TRUMP PRESIDENCY BY SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER APPEARS TO BE GROWING WEAKER.

LAST WEEK, FEDERAL JUDGE T.S. ELLIS III REBUKED THE MUELLER TEAM FOR CHARGING TRUMP ASSOCIATES WITH ANY CRIME SO THEY CAN GET THEM TO SQUEAL ON PRESIDENT TRUMP. REGARDING THE INDICTMENT OF FORMER TRUMP AIDE PAUL MANAFORT, ELLIS SAID TO ONE OF MUELLER’S DEMOCRAT ATTORNEYS: “YOU DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT MR. MANAFORT’S BANK FRAUD…WHAT YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT IS WHAT INFORMATION MR. MANAFORT COULD GIVE YOU THAT WOULD REFLECT ON MR. TRUMP OR LEAD TO HIS PROSECUTION OR IMPEACHMENT.”

A SECOND FEDERAL JUDGE HAS ALSO REBUKED THE MUELLER TEAM FOR EXCEDING ITS ORIGINAL MANDATE ABOUT RUSSIAN COLLUSION WITH THE 2016 TRUMP CAMPAIGN.

JUDGE ELLIS ALSO SAID AT THE HEARING WHEN IT COMES TO SQUEEZING PEOPLE: “This tactic is as old as Adam turning against Eve.” But, as the judge correctly pointed out, it risks the possibility that the squeezed witness will not only sing, he will compose.

SOMEONE SHOULD STEP IN AND END THIS WITCH HUNT. BUT THERE ARE POLITICAL CONSEQUENCES IF THEY DO AND THAT COST MAY NOT BE COUNTED UNTIL NOVEMBER.
