Advice for the President

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY AUGUST 7, 2018

PRESIDENTS ARE NOT KNOWN FOR TAKING ADVICE FROM COLUMNISTS AND COMMENTATORS. PRESIDENT TRUMP APPEARS UNWILLING TO TAKE ADVICE FROM JUST ABOUT EVERYONE, BUT HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS ANYWAY.

INSTEAD OF ONGOING CRITICISM OF JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY, HOW ABOUT SOMETHING POSITIVE? INSTEAD OF ATTACKING BASKETBALL STAR LEBRON JAMES LAST WEEK, TRUMP SHOULD HAVE INVITED JAMES TO THE WHITE HOUSE, ALONG WITH THE POOR CHILDREN HE IS HELPING AND MADE THE CASE FOR SCHOOL CHOICE.

THE PRESIDENT HAS DONE A LOT THAT’S GOOD. HE SHOULD START FEATURING PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T HAVE AND COULDN’T FIND JOBS DURING THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION, BUT NOW HAVE THEM AND ARE GRATEFUL TO HIM FOR HIS TAX CUTS AND DEREGULATION THAT MADE THOSE JOBS POSSIBLE. HAVE THEM ON STAGE WITH HIM AND LET THEM SAY HOW GRAFETUL THEY ARE.

POSITIVITY CAN OVERCOME NEGATIVITY. AMERICANS ARE AN OPTIMISTIC PEOPLE. THEY ALSO ARE TIRED OF THE BICKERING. LIGHT OVERCOMES DARKNESS AND GOOD OVERSOMES EVIL. MR. PRESIDENT, YOU HAVE LIGHT TO SHED AND GOOD TO PROMOTE. DO IT AND GET OFF TWITTER FOR A WHILE. PLEASE. I’M CAL THOMAS.
