Fewer Want To Live In NYC

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY APRIL 29, 2019

NEW YORK CITY, ALONG WITH CALIFORNIA, MAY DEFINE NICE PLACES TO VISIT, BUT YOU WOULDN’T WANT TO LIVE THERE.

NEW YORK CITY’S UBER LIBERAL MAYOR BILL DIBLASIO IS PROPOSING A $92.5 BILLION BUDGET, $300 MILLION MORE THAN HIS PRELIMINARY BUDGET AND THAT AFTER HE ORDERED MANDATORY SPENDING CUTS.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL STORY REPORTS: “EARLIER THIS YEAR, CITY OFFICIALS RAISED CONCERNS ABOUT SIGNIFICANT DECREASES IN PERSONAL INCOME TAX REVENUE, WHICH WAS ABOUT $935 MILLION LESS THAN WHAT WAS COLLECTED THE PREVIOUS YEAR.” DIBLASIO BLAMES THE VOLATILE STOCK MARKET, BUT THE REAL REASON IS PEOPLE ARE MOVING OUT OF HIGH TAX CITIES AND STATES.

THAT HAS BEEN THE PATTERN FOR SOME TIME. FLORIDA GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS RECENTLY RESPONDED TO A CLAIM BY NEW YORK’S GOVERNOR, ANDREW CUOMO, THAT DESANTIS IS STEALING HIS PEOPLE. DESANTIS RESPONDED: “I’M NOT STEALING THEM; CUOMO IS DRIVING THEM OUT.”

IF THE LEFT GETS ITS HANDS ON THE WHITE HOUSE AND CONGRESS IN THE NEXT ELECTION, OUR $22 TRILION DEBT WILL ONLY GROW AND AMERICA WILL BECOME A NICE PLACE TO VISIT, BUT YOU MAY BE LESS LIKELY TO WANT TO LIVE HERE. I’M CAL THOMAS.
