Oscar Night

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY FEBRUARY 12, 2020

I CAN’T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I WATCHED AN AWARDS SHOW, CAN YOU? THEY USED TO BE FUN TO WATCH, BACK WHEN MOST MOVIES WERE WORTH SEEING AND NOT LOADED WITH VULGARITIES AND PROFANITIES.

SO, NO, I DIDN’T WATCH THE OSCARS SUNDAY NIGHT AND IF IT WAS ANYTHING LIKE RECENT BROADCASTS, THE RATINGS WILL BE NEAR BOTTOM, PERHAPS RECORD LOWS.

THE STORIES I READ ABOUT THE EVENT WERE NOT SURPRISING. BRAD PITT, WHO WON BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR FOR HIS ROLE IN “ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD,” A FILM FULL OF THE F-WORD, ATTACKED REPUBLICANS. JOAQUIN PHOENIX, WHO WON BEST ACTOR FOR HIS ROLE IN “THE JOKER,” AS VIOLENT A MOVIE AS HAS EVER BEEN MADE, SAID SOMETHING ABOUT COWS AND JOHN BOLTON.

IT’S ALL SO PREDICTABLE. LIBERALS GIVE LIBERALS AWARDS AND THEY THEN SAY LIBERAL THINGS. THERE’S MORE EXCITEMENT IN RE-ARRANGING MY SOCK DRAWER.

ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE NEXT ZWARDS SHOW IS SCHEDULED? I WON’T BE WATCHING THAT ONE EITHER AND I SUSPECT MOST OF YOU WON’T. I’M CAL THOMAS.
