CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY APRIL 13, 2020
A PASTOR FRIEND TELLS ME DONATIONS TO HIS LARGE CHURCH ARE DOWN 40 PERCENT BECAUSE OF THE CORONOVIRUS AND THE NECESSITY OF WORSHIPPING VIA VIDEO, INSTEAD OF COMING TO THE BUILDING.
I CAN IDENTIFY. DONATIONS TO VALUES THROUGH MEDIA, WHICH SUPPORT THESE COMMENTARIES AND OTHER OUTREACH EFFORTS, ARE ALSO DOWN. YOU’VE HEARD IT SAID THAT GIVING IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP. I DON’T EXPECT, NOR WOULD I WANT, ANYONE TO WORSHIP ME, BUT IF A SERVANT IS WORTHY OF HIS HIRE, WE SHOULD SUPPORT THOSE MINISTRIES THAT ARE PROMOTING THE GOSPEL AND THE VALUES AND TRADITIONS IN WHICH WE BELIEVE.
UNLIKE SOME WITH WHOM YOU ARE FAMILIAR, I DON’T BEG FOR MONEY. I SIMPLY SAY WE HAVE A NEED. DONATIONS ARE DOWN, SO IF YOU ENJOY THESE DAILY COMMENTARIES AND BELIEVE IN THE WORK WE ARE DOING, A GIFT IN ANY AMOUNT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. FOR A GIFT OF $20 OR MORE I WILL SEND YOU A CD OF OUR MEDIA DINER IN FEBRUARY.
MY DONATIONS TO MISSIONARIES AND CHURCH CONTINUE. I HOPE YOURS ARE AS WELL. AND PLEASE REMEMBER US IF YOU CAN. THANKS. I’M CAL THOMAS.
