THANK A VETERAN TODAY

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY NOVEMBER 11, 2020

COULD WE STEP AWAY FROM POLITICS FOR AT LEAST TODAY TO HONOR AND SUPPORT OUR VETERANS ON THIS, THEIR ANNUAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE? FORMERLY KNOWN AS ARMISTICE DAY TO COMMEMORATE THE END OF WORLD WAR ONE, IT BECAME VETERANS DAY TO HONOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED IN ALL OUR WARS.

THE SACRIFICES THEY MADE TO DEFEND FREEDOM ARE BEYOND REMUNERATION. THEY SACRIFICED TIME WITH FAMILIES; THEY SACRIFICED MONEY. THEY MIGHT HAVE EARNED MORE IN OTHER JOBS. THEY PUT THEIR LIVES AT RISK AND SOME RETURNED HOME WITH NO ARMS OR LEGS. THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES WE HONOR ON MEMORIAL DAY. THE TWO ARE OFTEN CONFUSED BUT SHOULD NOT BE.

FIND A VETERAN TODAY AND NOT ONLY THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE, BUT ASK THEM TO TELL YOU THEIR STORIES. TAKING THE TIME TO LISTEN TO VETERANS IS ANOTHER WAY TO HONOR THEM. IT SAYS YOU CARE. AND THEN IF YOU ARE ABLE, RESEARCH A VETERANS ORGANIZATION THAT HELPS THEM REBUILD THEIR LIVES. THERE ARE SEVERAL ON TV. INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THEY ARE CREDIBLE.

THEY ARE SO WORTH OUR LOVE, SUPPORT AND GRATITUDE. TELL ONE TODAY. I’M CAL THOMAS.
