2021 Priorities

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JANUARY 1, 2021

A NEW YEAR, A CLEAN SLATE, A TIME TO START OVER. INSTEAD OF RESOLUTIONS, WHICH OFTEN FAIL, HOW ABOUT A CHANGE IN PRIORITIES? ONE FRIEND TOLD ME HE HAS HAD ENOUGH OF WORKING 12-15 HOUR DAYS AND HAS TAKEN TIME OFF TO BE WITH HIS WIFE AND YOUNG CHILDREN. HE TAKES EACH CHILD – THEY ARE ALL GIRLS – OUT FOR A DATE EVERY DAY AND HAS VOWED NOT TO WORK SO MUCH IN THE FUTURE. HE’S DISCOVERED YOU CAN’T MICROWAVE A CHILD. QUALITY TIME REQUIRES QUANTITY TIME.

WHAT HAS CHANGED YOUR PRIORITIES BECAUSE OF COVID-19? WILL YOU WORK LESS AND FOCUS MORE ON WHAT REALLY MATTERS? YOU DO KNOW WHAT REALLY MATTERS, DON’T YOU? ASK YOUR GRANDPARENTS IF THEY ARE STILL AROUND AND ESPECIALLY IF THEY LIVED THROUGH WORLD WAR II WHEN SACRIFICE, FOLLOWING THE DEPRESSION AND SHARING WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS WAS THE RULE ALMOST EVERYONE ACCEPETED.

THERE WAS POPULAR SONG IN THE 70S CALLED “BIG YELLOW TAXI.” A LYRIC ASKED “DON’T IT ALWAYS SEEM TO GO THAT YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’VE GOT ‘TIL IT’S GONE?”

WHAT HAS GONE FROM YOUR LIFE THIS YEAR AND WHAT WILL YOU REPLACE IT WITH IN 2021? CHOOSE WISELY? HAPPY NEW YEAR. I’M CAL THOMAS.
