Thanks-Giving 2021

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY NOVEMBER 25, 2021

JESUS SAID, “IT’S MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE.” HIS STATEMENT HAS APPLICATIONS BEYOND

WHAT ONE MIGHT CALL “RELIGIOUS.”

AT THANKSGIVING, MOST OF US PONDER WITH GRATITUDE THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE – FOOD, SHELTER,

INCOME, HEALTH. NOT EVERYONE CAN GIVE THANKS FOR THESE. MAYBE THEY’VE LOST A LOVED ONE TO

COVID. PERHAPS THEY ARE SICK, THEMSELVES. THEY MIGHT HAVE LOST THEIR JOB. HERE’S A THOUGHT.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED BEING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THANKSGIVING? I MEAN NOT JUST THE THANKS

PART, BUT THE GIVING PART?

YOU KNOW THE FEELING WHEN YOU RECEIVE THINGS FROM OTHERS THAT BLESS YOU. DO YOU KNOW HOW

IT FEELS TO GIVE TO SOMEONE ELSE – A MEAL THEY CAN’T AFFORD, HELP WITH A RENT PAYMENT, OR IF

YOU CAN, MONEY TO GET A POOR CHILD OUT OF A FAILING PUBLIC SCHOOL AND INTO A PRIVATE SCHOOL

WHERE THEY HAVE HOPE FOR THE FUUTRE.

WHEN I GIVE TO OTHERS THEY SOMETIMES SAY, “YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT.” I KNOW. GIVING WHEN

YOU DON’T HAVE TO PRODUCES A WONDERFUL FEELING INSIDE. TRY IT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AND SEE IF

I’M RIGHT. AND MAY YOU HAVE A HAPPY DAY TOMORROW, GIVING THANKS AND ALSO JUST GIVING. I’M CAL

THOMAS.
