CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY OCTOBER 27, 2022
IT WAS HARD TO WATCH. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT, BUT…
JOHN FETTERMAN, THE LT. GOVERNOR OF PENNSYLVANIA, WAS SUPPOSED TO DEBATE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE DR. MEHMET OZ TUESDAY NIGHT IN HARRISBURG. FETTERMAN, WHO IS STILL RECOVERING FROM A STROKE WAS SO INARTICULATE, CONFUSED AND WRONG THAT HE MADE PRESIDENT BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS LOOK SHARP BY CONTRAST.
IN ONE OF HIS FEW COGENT MOMENTS, FETTERMAN DENIED HE OPPOSES FRACKING, A PROCESS THAT PRODUCES OIL FROM SHALE AND HAS CREATED A LOT OF JOBS IN PENNSYLVANIA. WHEN CONFRONTED WITH A STATEMENT HE HAD MADE ONLY A FEW YEARS AGO IN WHICH SAID HE DOESN’T AND NEVER HAS SUPPORTED FRACKING, HE REPEATED HE DOES SUPPORT IT AND ALWAYS HAS.
FETTERMAN BEGAN BY SAYING “GOOD NIGHT” INSTEAD OF GOOD EVENING. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR HIM IF HE HAD MEANT IT AND LEFT THE STAGE.
THE SENATE THESE DAYS IS NOT THE GREAT DELIBERATIVE BODY IT CLAIMS TO BE. THERE ARE NO DANIEL WEBSTERS, OR OTHER GREAT ORATORS, BUT IF JOHN FETTERMAN IS ELECTED TO THE SENATE, HE’LL NEED A TELEPROMPTER, LIKE PRESIDENT BIDEN, TO SAY ANYTHING. I’M CAL THOMAS
