CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY APRIL 10, 2023
THE WASHINGTON POST IS A PAPER – I CEASED CALLING IT A NEWSPAPER YEARS AGO – THAT CHOOSES WHAT IT THINKS IS IMPORTANT AND IGNORES WHAT IT BELIEVES IS UNIMPORTANT. BUT ONE STORY CAUGHT MY EYE LAST FRIDAY, GOOD FRIDAY. IT WAS ABOUT HOW ESPECIALLY YOUNG PEOPLE ARE FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO RELATE THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS TO THEIR DAILY LIVES.
IT MADE ME LAUGH. THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD WHO TOOK ON THE SINS OF ALL, DIED FOR US ON A CROSS AND WAS RAISED TO LIFE AND OFFERS ETERNAL LIFE TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM AND RECEIVES HIM AS SAVIOR. THAT’S NOT RELEVANT TO EVERYDAY LIFE? THAT’S NOT RELEVANT TO CONSIDER WHETHER YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN OR FOREVER IN A REAL PLACE CALLED HELL THAT JESUS TALKED ABOUT MANY TIMES?
WHAT COULD BE MORE RELEVANT THAN THAT? YOUR CAREER? YOUR WEALTH? THE NEXT ELECTION?
THIS IS A REFLECTION OF WHAT IS TAUGHT, OR NOT TAUGHT, IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES. IT IS ALSO ABOUT THE SEEDS OF DOUBT SOWN IN THE MAJOR MEDIA AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA. ALL IDEAS ARE EQUAL, THEY SAY. TRUTH IS SUBJECTIVE, OR DOESN’T EXIST. TEACH YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN THE TRUTH. HE IS RISEN! I’M CAL THOMAS.
