CORRUPTION AT THE DOJ

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JUNE 26, 2023

GARY SHIPLEY SPENT 14 YEARS AS A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR FOR THE IRS. LAST MONTH HE TESTIFIED BEFORE A CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE IN CLOSED SESSION THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THE HUNTER BIDEN CASE AND THE WAY IT WAS HANDLED BY THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT. SHIPLEY SAID EVERY TIME A CONFLICT AROSE OR A DECISION HAD TO BE MADE IN THE INVESTIGATION OF HUNTER BIDEN, FEDERAL PROSECUTORS RULED IN WAYS THAT BENEFITTED HUNTER.

HE ALSO SAID JUSTICE PROSECUTORS BLOCKED SEARCH WARRANTS AND SHUT DOWN PURSUITS OF LEADS, INCLUDING SOME THAT COULD IMPLICATE HUNTER.

“I AM ALLEGING WITH EVIDENCE,” HE SAID, “THAT DOJ PROVIDED PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT, SLOW-WALKED THE INVESTIGATION, DID NOTHING TO AVOID OBVIOUS CONFLICTS OF INTEREST IN THIS INVESTIGATION.”

ONE INVESTIGATOR, WHOSE NAME WAS REDACTED, SAID HUNTER’S ATTORNEY THREATENED TO END THE CAREERS OF INVESTIGATORS AND PROSECUTORS IF THEY CHARGED THE PRESIDENT’S SON.

CLEARLY A HOUSE CLEANING IS NEEDED AT THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE. IT WILL TAKE THE NEXT ELECTION TO HAVE ANY HOPE OF ACCOMPLISHING THAT. MEANWHILE, THE TWO-TIER LEGAL SYSTEM CONTINUES. READ MORE IN THE WASHINGTON TIMES. I’M CAL THOMAS.
