CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY NOVEMBER 17, 2023
ANOTHER GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN HAS BEEN AVOIDED AS CONGRESS HAS AGREED ON A MEASURE THAT WILL KEEP SPENDING MONEY WE DON’T HAVE UNTIL THEY DO IT ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
A SMALL EXAMPLE OF THE MISSPENDING FROM CITIZENS AGAINST GOVERNMENT WASTE: THE FEDS SPENT $19.6 MILLION ON THE INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR IRELAND; $440 THOUSAND TO HAVE ATTENDANTS PUSH BUTTONS ON THE AUTOMATED CAPITOL HILL ELEVATORS; THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES SPENT $4.2 MILLION TO CONDUCT A “NATIONAL CONVERSATION ON PLURALISM AND IDENTITY”; THE PENTAGON AND CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY CHANNELED $11 MILLION TO PSYCHICS; THE GOVERNMENT REPORTEDLY SPENT $160 THOUSAND TO PEOPLE AT THEIR ”OFFICIAL ADDRESS” WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A TAVERN; A VAN NUYS, CALIFORNIA ALCOHOLIC RECEIVED A $26 THOUSAND SSI CHECK, THEN SPENT THE MONEY ON A VAN AND TWO CARS WHICH HE SUBSEQUENTLY WRECKED WHILE DRIVING DRUNK.”
THERE IS PLENTY MORE AND YOU CAN FIND SOME OF IT AT CAGW.ORG.
CONGRESS CAN’T HELP ITSELF WHEN IT COMES TO SPENDING AND BORROWING MONEY. THE DEBT HAS EXCEDED $33 TRILLION. WE ARE GOING TO PAY A HEAVY PRICE FOR THIS. I’M CAL THOMAS.
Yes, Cal, you are oh so right again!
Thanks, Tom – Hope you will get my new book “A Watchman in the Night: What I’ve Seen in 50 years reporting on America”
What “moderation” is my just-submitted comment awaiting, pray tell?
