IS THE TRUMP NYC TRIAL UNFAIR?

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY APRIL 17, 2024

REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU STAND CONCERNING DONALD TRUMP AND WHETHER YOU THINK HE SHOULD – OR SHOULD NOT – BE PRESIDENT AGAIN, HIS TRIAL IN NEW YORK CITY CAN ONLY FUEL THE NOTION HE IS BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY.

CONSIDER: HALF THE 96 JURORS INTERVIEWED SAID THEY ARE BIASED AGAINST TRUMP. TRUMP WON JUST 12 PERCENT OF THE NEW YORK CITY VOTE IN THE LAST ELECTION SO THE LIKLIEHOOD OF AN IMPARTIAL JURY POOL IS NIL.

THE JUDGE IS A DEMOCRAT. THE JUDGE’S DAUGHTER RAISES MONEY FOR DEMOCRATS. PROSECUTOR ALVIN BRAGG IS A DEMOCRAT WHO RAISED A MISDEMANOR CHARGE THAT HAD RUN OUT UNDER THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS TO A FELONY IN ORDER TO GET TRUMP.

THIS WILL NOT SIT WELL WITH TRUMP SUPPORTERS, IT SHOULDN’T SIT WELL WITH ANY AMERICAN WHO BELIEVES IN FAIRNESS AND EQUAL JUSTICE.

AND LET’S NOT FORGET THE PROSECUTION’S STAR WITNESS, FORMER TRUMP ATTORNEY MICHAEL COHEN, A CONVICTED PERJURER. A JUDGE RECENTLY CALLED COHEN A “SERIAL LIAR.”

GRANTED, TRUMP HAS BROUGHT A LOT OF THIS ON HIMSELF, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN A TRIAL SHOULD NOT BE FAIR AND THIS ONE APPEARS NOT TO BE. I’M CAL THOMAS.

All Americans should have due process of the law not a stacked decked against Republicans where Democrats serve as judge, jury & execute their form of justice.

The New York case is clearly not the best case on which to try Trump. However, is there any attempt to bring him to justice that you have not demonized? Have you ever said anything positive about conservative Republicans like Adam Kinzinger, Justin Amash, and Liz Cheney who agree with his policies but can’t stand his lawlessness? As far as Michael Cohen, it is important to remember who was the beneficiary of his felonious perjury, and that he did not commit such in a vacuum.
