CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JANUARY 10, 2025
WATCHING THE PICTURES OF HOMES, BUSINESSES AND CARS BURNING AND HEARING ABOUT PEOPLE DYING IN THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRES IS ANOTHER REMINDER OF THE FLEETING NATURE OF LIFE AND PROPERTY.
THE DEVASTATION IS HORRIFIC. THE AVERAGE HOME PRICE IN LA IS NOW OVER $4 MILLION. ACTOR BRAD PITT RECENTLY BOUGHT A HOME FOR $20 MILLION AND IT NOW FACES DESTRUCTION. MAYBE INSURANCE WILL COVER SOME OF THE LOSSES, IF OWNERS WERE INSURED, BUT THAT WON’T BRING BACK MEMORIES AND OTHER THINGS THAT ARE IRREPLACEABLE.
CALIFORNIA HAS LONG BEEN PLAGUED BY EARHQUAKES, MUDSLIDES AND FIRES. SOME POLITICIANS CAN BE BLAMED FOR SOME OF THE FIRES BECAUSE THEY HAVE GIVEN IN TO ENVIRONMENTALISTS WHO REFUSE TO LET THEM CLEAR FLAMMABLE UNDERBRUSH IN ORDER TO PROTECT CERTAIN ANIMALS AND INSECTS.
TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, LA MAYOR KAREN BASS, WHO IS BLACK AND A SELF-DESCRIBED LESBIAN, FLEW TO GHANA FOR A WEDDING, IGNORING WARNINGS FROM METEROLOGISTS OF THE POTENTIAL FOR MASSIVE FIRES. WHEN SHE RETURNED, SHE REFUSED TO ANSWER A REPORTER’S QUESTIONS.
WHY DO VOTERS KEEP VOTING FOR PEOPLE LIKE BASS?
SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOST EVERYTHING, INCLUDING SOME LIVES. IT’S SO SAD. I’M CAL THOMAS.
