CAL THOMAS COMENTARY MARCH 3, 2022
PRESIDENT BIDEN’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS WAS A MISH-MASH OF FAMILIAR PROPOSALS, WITH UKRAINE TACKED ON TOP.
WASHINGTON POST COLUMNIST HENRY OLSON SAID HIS DOMESTIC SPENDING PROPOSALS WHEN WE HAVE A $30 TRILLION DEBT ARE DEAD ON ARRIVAL.
BIDEN WANTS TO CODIFY ROE VS. WADE SO WE CAN KEEP KILLING BABIES, PROTECT LGBTQI-PLUS AND TRANSGENDER RIGHTS, WHICH HE CLAIMED ARE GOD-GIVEN, IN OPPOSITION TO SCRIPTURE.
WE HEARD THE TIRED PHRASE ABOUT CORPORATIONS AND THE RICH NOT PAYING THEIR “FAIR SHARE.” WHAT IS FAIR? WHAT WE DIDN’T HEAR WAS A PROMISE TO REDUCE SPENDING. INSTEAD HE WANTS TO SPEND MORE. HE CLAIMED HE WOULD CUT THE DEFICIT IN HALF (BUT NOT THE DEBT). HOW HE CAN HE DO THAT WITH HIS SPENDING PROPOSALS? HE CREDITED THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES FOR REDUCING COVID-19 CASES AND DEATHS, BUT THEN ASKED FOR PRICE CONTROLS. RICHARD NIXON TRIED THAT AND IT FAILED.
THERE WAS NOTHING ABOUT WEANING US FROM RUSSIAN OIL AND ITS PROFITS BEING USED TO FUND THE WAR AGAINST UKRAINE.
THE LATEST WASHINGTON POST/ABC NEWS POLL SHOWS THE PRESIDENT AT 37 PERCENT APPROVAL. HIS STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH DIDN’T HELP HIM RISE. I’M CAL THOMAS.
