The House voted 202-220 to kill a continuing resolution that had the SAVE Act attached to it. 14 Republicans voted against the resolution along with 206 Democrats. CRITICS ARE BLAMING SPEAKER MIKE JOHNSON FOR LACK OF LEADERSHIP.
The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to vote in elections. The House passed the SAVE Act in July with five Democrats voting in support of it, but it dIed in the Senate because Majority Leader Chuck Schumer refused to bring it up for a vote.
Donald Trump pushed for the SAVE Act to be passed, arguing that if it wasn’t, Republicans should not agree to a continuing resolution.
He claimed Democrats are registering Illegal Voters by the TENS OF THOUSANDS – . HE SAID “They will be voting in the 2024 Presidential Election, and they shouldn’t be allowed to.”
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE PROOF, BUT THE FACT THAT DEMOCRATS VOTED AGAINST THE BILL MAKES ME SUSPICIOUS.
THESE CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS AVOID PROPER BUDGETING. DEMOCRATS LIKE GOVERNMENT SHUTRDOWNS SO THEY CAN BLAME REPUBLICANS AND GAIN POLITICALLY. IT’S ALL A SHAM AND A SHAME. I’M CAL THOMAS.
