CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY MAY 1, 2019
ONE MIGHT THINK READING THE NEW YORK TIMES — AS I AM FORCED TO DO EACH DAY — THAT A CONTROVERSY OVER AN ANTI-SEMITIC CARTOON PUBLISHED IN THEIR INTERNATIONAL EDITION MIGHT BE CONSIDERED AN ABERRATION. IT ISN’T. THE TIMES HAS A HISTORY OF ANTI-SEMITISM DATING AT BACK AT LEAST TO WORLD WAR II WHEN IT WAS COMPLICIT WITH THOSE WHO DENIED THE HOLOCAUST. IT WAS ALSO COMPLICIT IN COVERING UP SOVIET DICTATOR JOSEPH STALIN’S FORCED FAMINE, BUT THAT’S A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY.
IN 2015, THE TIMES PUBLISHED A CHART LABELING DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS WHO OPPOSED THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION’S NUCLEAR DEAL WITH IRAN AS “JEWISH” OR NOT. IN 2012, THE TIMES’ REPORTER FOR EAST AFRICA WORKED IN A BIZARRE SHOT AT ISRAEL’S ALLEGED EXPLOITATION OF HOLOCAUST GUILT.
THE TIMES REGULARLY PROMOTES HAMAS AND PALESTINIAN PROPAGANDA. THE NEWSPAPER AND OTHERS THINK ANTI-ZIONISM IS NOT ANTI-SEMITISM. IT IS TOO OFTEN A COVER, HIDING THE REAL SENTIMENTS OF PEOPLE WHO HATE JEWS.
ANTI-SEMITISM IS GROWING IN EUROPE AND UNFORTUNATELY IN THE U.S. WE’VE SEEN EXTREME EXAMPLES IN RECENT SYNAGOGUE SHOOTINGS. THE TIMES IS COMPLICIT IN ALL OF IT. I’M CAL THOMAS.
