The Week That Was

CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY OCTOBER 19, 2020

LAST WEEK WAS ONE OF THE MOST NEWSMAKING WEEKS I’VE SEEN IN POLITICS IN MANY YEARS.

STEVE SCULLY WAS PUT ON INDEFINENT LEAVE BY C-SPAN AFTER HE ADMITTED LYING ABOUT AN EMAIL HE SENT TO FORMER TRUMP COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI, WHO NOW HATES TRUMP. SCULLY CLAIMED HIS TWITTER ACCOUNT HAD BEEN HACKED.

THERE WERE THE DUELING TOWN HALLS. PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS REGULARLY ATTACKED AND CRITICIZED BY SAVANNAH GUTHRIE OF NBC NEWS. GUTHRIE FOCUSED ON SUBJECTS LIKE WHITE SUPREMACY AND Q-ANON AND TRUMP’S TAXES THAT AFFECT VIRTUALLY NO AMERICAN.

ON ABC, GEORGE STEPHANOPULOUS HELD A TOWN HALL WITH JOE BIDEN, WHO AS USUAL SEEMED TO BE OUT OF IT. BIDEN SAID HE WOULD GIVE HIS VIEWS ON PACKING THE SUPREME COURT AFTER HE SEES HOW JUDGE AMY CONEY BARRETT IS TREATED AND BEFORE THE ELECTION. BUT MILLIONS HAVE ALREADY VOTED. NO ONE ASKED HIM ABOUT THE NEW YORK POST STORY CLAIMING HUNTER BIDEN ALLEGEDLY LEVERAGED CONNECTIONS WITH HIS FATHER TO BOOST HIS PAY FROM BURISMA.

RUSH LIMBAUGH SAYS TRUMP IS THE ONLY PERSON STANDING IN THE WAY OF SOCIALISM IN AMERICA. BETTER PRAY EVERY DAY. I’M CAL THOMAS.
