Why So Much Anger?

CAL THOMAS COMMENTATRY AUGUST 21, 2020

A FRIEND WROTE ME TO DECRY ALL THE ANGER SHE SEES FROM PEOPLE CHECKING INTO HER VACATION HOTEL. PEOPLE COMING TO SPEND SOME TIME AWAY FROM HOME ARE ANGRY. YOU WOULD THINK IT MIGHT BE THE OPPOSITE.

IN A RECENT INTERVIEW ABOUT MY LATEST BOOK “AMERICA’S EXPIRATION DATE,” THE INTERVIEWER ASKED ME WHY I THINK THERE IS SO MUCH ANGER IN THE COUNTRY. I REPLIED THAT THE MEDIA DRIVE A LOT OF IT, PITTING ANGRY PEOPLE AGAINST EACH OTHER. THEY CALL EACH OTHER NAMES; THEY CLAIM THE OTHER PERSON IS, OR WANTS, TO RUIN THE COUNTRY.

POLITICIANS ADD TO THE ANGER BY PROMISING THINGS THEY CAN’T DELIVER AND IF THEY TRY WILL BANKRUPT US. MOST OF ALL, PEOPLE ARE ANGRY BECAUSE NO PROBLEM EVER GETS SOLVED. POLITICIANS WANT THE ISSUE SO THEY CAN BE ANGRY AT OTHER POLITICIANS FOR NOT SOLVING PROBLEMS. BUT WHEN THEY GET INTO OFFICE THEY DON’T SOLVE THEM EITHER. THE DEBT GROWS AND SOME POLITICIANS WANT EVEN MORE OF OUR MONEY TO SPEND ON THINGS THAT ALSO DON’T WORK.

THERE’S MY ANSWER. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE SOURCE OF ANGER IN THE COUNTRY? YOU CAN WRITE ME AT MY WEBSITE CALTHOMAS.COM. I’M CAL THOMAS.

    Hi Cal!
You impacted my life beginning in the early 90’s when i heard you speak at Multnomah Bible in Portland (completed my Masters). I have followed you ever since.
I find myself being angry…why? It’s loss…loss of freedom related to this highly contagious virus. It impacted my annual family traditions…running Bloomsday in Spokane with at least 3 of 4 of my kids, no family reunion this year (my dad is 96, my mom is 90), and no trip to a Seattle Mariners game with my young adult children.
It is more though… its loss of Christian culture in the USA. Legalized same sex marriage. It’s Abe Lincoln statues and many others coming down. Disrespectful punks being allowed to usurp businesses by their intimidation, Portland, specifically.
It’s “Big Brother” encroaching on our privacy through e-tools… monitoring everything related to my efficiencies as a bank underwriter (analyst). It’s fear of where this e-chip, e-monitoring, e-trade technology is going. We know where it is leading, of course, Cal. I know you know.
I respect you so much with your edgy, short, highy intelligent commentaries. I have read many of your commentaries previously through your link on Drudge.
I now hear your daily commentary on Christian radio before Jay and Jordon Sekulow.
Cal, i know you will continue your cutting edge work! I love how you are such a gifted word-smith! The best to you in Christ!! Thank you! Paul
